So this week has been stuffed with packing and unpacking and handling hyper kids. I have like 12 days until I leave for my Disney world internship, and I'm currently living out of suitcases and boxes. My brother came home from the hospital this morning, to which I am very happy about. He has a light blue cast that covers most of his body, and has been spending the majority of the day on pain killers.
Throughout the packing and unpacking and finding clothes and things I'll need, I've been trying to figure out my Halloween costume. I usually begin planning around this time of year. This year I want to get an idea before I leave for my internship, since I don't think I'll have access to a sewing machine, or have the money to buy one while I'm there. I'm not sure how much money I'll have to dedicate to the costume, and I'm nervous that I won't even get to use it.
One of my ideas on how to handle this is to pack my Korra cosplay I made a few months ago and use that. I found a brown pair of boots in my boxes that I think will work better then the black ones I used earlier, and will also be a bit cooler. If I do decide to go with that route, I think any money I would've devoted to a new costume will probably go to getting a better wig. The whole costume weighs a lot less then my Flame Princess cosplay, which makes it ideal for air travel, but I really love wearing my Flame Princess costume.
Eventually I need to get good pictures of both of these cosplays anyways for this website and others, I just don't have a camera right now, and don't really have anyone to take the pictures of me. There are also some things I'd like to change about both costumes. I rushed a lot with my Korra cosplay, and as a result, I don't have as many high quality pieces as I would usually prefer. On my Flame Princess cosplay, I didn't have the money to get a wig and ran out of time to figure out shoes. So there's a lot I'd still like to fix if ever possible.
